Privacy Policy

This notice explains how uuchey.org collects, uses and protects personal information. It is written to follow UK GDPR and ICO best practice and is awaiting final legal review.

This notice is not ready to publish. A postal address for the data controller is still required, and the wording needs final legal review.

Who controls the data

Uuchey is the data controller for uuchey.org. You can reach him at uuchey@gmail.com.

Postal address: REQUIRED BEFORE LAUNCH

Newsletter data

If you join Pardon My Imperfection, your first name, email address, the consent wording you agreed to and the date of that consent are stored. Confirmation uses a double opt-in link that expires after 24 hours and can only be used once.

The lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.

Speaking-enquiry data

If you submit a speaking enquiry, the details you provide are stored so the enquiry can be reviewed and answered. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to your request.

Submitting an enquiry never adds you to the newsletter unless you separately tick the newsletter box.

Book-release alerts

If you ask to be told when a book is ready, your first name and email address are stored against that book only, on the basis of your consent, and used for that single announcement.

Purchases and payments

When paid resources are available, payment is handled by the site's payment provider. Card details are never seen or stored by uuchey.org. Order records and download activity are kept for accounting and support.

Analytics

Analytics are cookieless and aggregated. No individual visitor profile is built and no personal data is sold or shared for advertising.

Cookies

This site uses only the strictly necessary cookies required for it to work. If non-essential cookies are ever introduced, a consent banner will be added first.

Data retention

Newsletter records are kept while you remain subscribed and for a limited period afterwards as proof of consent. Speaking enquiries are kept while they may still be relevant and then deleted. Order records are kept as long as accounting rules require.

Data processors

The site's hosting, database, storage, email and payment infrastructure is provided by the platform that runs uuchey.org, together with the email service used to send newsletter campaigns, an analytics provider and a bot-protection provider. Each is used under a data-processing agreement.

International transfers

Where a processor stores data outside the UK, transfers rely on approved safeguards such as the UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Email uuchey@gmail.com and the request will be answered within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
